Adam O’Donovan founded VisiSonics with Dr. Ramani Duraiswami in 2009. Over the last decade, he has designed VisiSonics microphone array solutions and led the team to grow these products into robust business units. Mr. O‘Donovan has fostered partnerships with Tesla, Ford, Subaru and many other large brands allowing them to utilize cutting-edge audio technology in the design of next-generation automobiles. Mr. O’Donovan studied at the University of Maryland earning degrees in physics and computer science. Prior to VisiSonics, he worked at NASA, Microsoft Research and Avaya Labs. He co-authored many patents within VisiSonics’ IP portfolio and continues to lead the team to create new and original products for the 3D audio industry.
Brian Goldberg is the Production Manager, involved in all aspects of building VisiSonics’ hardware products and laboratory facilities and coordinates the use of outside production services. Brian has earned an MA from NYU, and also helps VisiSonics in several other areas including mechanical design, publicity and communications.
Dr. Ramani Duraiswami is CEO and Co-Founder of VisiSonics, a company devoted to the capture, rendering, and personalization of spatial audio. VisiSonics is a spinout from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he is also Professor and Associate Chair at the Department of Computer Science. Dr. Duraiswami received his B. Tech. at IIT Bombay, and his Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University. After spending a few years working in the industry, he joined the University of Maryland, where he established the Perceptual Interfaces and Reality Lab. This is where much of the initial research that formed the core of VisiSonics’ IP was conducted. Dr. Duraiswami has broad research interests, including spatial audio, computer vision, machine learning and scientific computing. He has published more than 265 peer-reviewed archival papers, authored a book, and has several issued patents.
